Before I began my journey in naturopathic medicine I always knew I wanted to help people. That natural born instinct to serve others landed me in the field of social work where I worked alongside elderly and then later families and children. While working in this field I discovered that I had some health concerns of my own. Having bounced from one healthcare practitioner to the next, the disconnect in the field of health and wellness became obvious to me on a personal level.
It was in 2011, I discovered naturopathic medicine when I met with a naturopathic doctor to discuss my health. It was during our first appointment I quickly made the connection between my then-profession in social work and the field of naturopathic medicine. I discovered that naturopathic medicine is a way of connecting all aspects of our health and wellbeing, focusing not only on physical health but mental wellness too. A year later I landed at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) in Toronto, where I completed a 4 year accredited naturopathic medical program. During my last year internship at CCNM, I spent time with patients at the college's onsite clinic (RSNC), the Brampton Naturopathic Teaching Clinic within the Brampton Civic hospital, and Queen West Community Health Centre located in downtown Toronto. I also had the privilege to spend time at The Other Song Homeopathic Clinic located in Mumbai, India, where I assessed patients with a variety of health concerns and treated them with homeopathic remedies. A few months before graduation, I enrolled in a Natural Doctor's International program and travelled to Ometepe, Nicaragua to work in a sustainable naturopathic clinic which provides free health assessments and treatment to locals who otherwise do not have access to healthcare.
My goal is to breakdown the disconnect in the field of healthcare and help you find the solutions to your health concerns in a way that works for you.
